Welcome Mike Fox!

With graduation just on the horizon, he is able to complement his final academic efforts with an internship in the Ordway’s Education Department. Mike is looking forward to helping out with the upcoming Flint Hills International Children’s Festival as well as the other highly anticipated Ordway school performances.

Welcome Christie Roberts!

Christie Roberts, ARTwalk Curator
Hi, I’m Christie Roberts, the ARTwalk Curator. I am excited to see all of the art that is sent in this year, as I heard last year there were over 600 submissions! I grew up in St. Michael, Minnesota, with my parents, two siblings, and our dog Fraser. Growing up, I always loved to make art and work on craft projects. I went to college at Bethel University and received a double major in Studio Art and Anthropology. At Bethel, I got to work with the University’s permanent art collection, deciding where to hang different art pieces, cataloging work, and researching and writing about the artists. I’ve also worked at a gallery in Northeast Minneapolis called Altered Esthetics, where I got to meet artists, jury art shows, and hang up lots of artwork. Working with art and artists is one of my favorite things to do.

On the side, I work part time at a place called the Mathnasium, where I tutor kids who are having trouble with math. I also volunteer some of my time helping adults learn basic computer skills (like copying and pasting, setting up an email address, or learning Microsoft Word). I love to read, go to art museums, bike, and make handmade books. I’m also around the Ordway a lot, helping prepare for the ARTwalk this spring. Don’t forget to turn in your submissions in February, and tell your friends to submit work too!
