Come and learn from master percussionist
Pedrito Martínez and his band members in this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity! Pedrito Martínez will
conduct an on-stage lecture and
demonstration on Afro-Cuban music, discussing the Yoruba traditions that he
draws from, the batá rhythms, the chants, and the roots of who he is as a
musician. He and band members will demonstrate, on batá drums and on congas,
how they transpose and reinterpret these rhythms in the context of the music.
