Announcing the 2015 Ordway Education Award winners

Thomas Gale, Ordway Education Advisor, presents the 2015 Community Commitment Award to Abdo Sayegh Rodriguez, Managing Director of TU Dance.
On Tuesday, March 24th, more than 150 people joined Ordway Education for the 10th Annual Liaison Appreciation Event including a reception in Jackson Room at Travelers and the performance of The Illusionists at the Ordway.

During the event the Ordway Education Advisors also presented the 2015 Education Awards, created to honor the contributions of individuals and institutions that have furthered the mission of Education and Community Engagement Programs at the Ordway. Congratulations to this year’s winners:

2015 Ordway Musical Theater Camps


Triple Threat Training
Musical Theater Intensive | Grades 9-12
August 3-7 | Tuition $450*
  • An intensive professional musical theater training program designed for motivated young artists
  • Learn from a team of experienced professionals, instructors, and guest artists
  • Hone your vocal, stage, and dance techniques in a professional atmosphere
  • Build your skill set for auditioning, knowledge of musical theater history, and character development
Auditions:           
  • Applicants must complete a registration form, prepare a one-minute monologue, 32 bars of an upbeat musical theater song, and a short dance combination of 4 counts of 8. 
  • Email a complete registration form and a youtube.com or vimeo.com link to your audition video to apost@ordway.org
  • Video auditions will be accepted through March 31, 2015.

Musical Theater Camp | Grades 5-8
August 10-14 | Tuition $450*
  • All ability levels welcome
  • Explore the elements of musical theater with instructors and guest artists
  • Develop and refine skills for acting, singing, and dancing
  • Learn excerpts, songs, and choreography from Broadway's greatest musicals
  • No auditions necessary

Rock the Ordway: Family Day

Rock the Ordway this month with an unprecedented mix of eclectic artists and performances specifically chosen to shake things up while also showcasing the state-of-the-art acoustics and intimacy of the new Concert Hall.

Looking for a way to introduce your kids to the magic of live music? This day has it all! From 9-12, toddlers, Pre-K, and grade school kids will love the kids music in the Concert Hall featuring The Bazillions, storytelling in the Drake Room and the instrument petting zoo in the lobby. They'll also enjoy take-away art projects, Flamenco dance lessons and face painting. From 12-2 tweens will rock to the music of the Bad Bad Hats, and learn to hip-hop dance with House of Dance Twin Cities. There will be plenty of food and beverages throughout the day. Family fun for everyone! Ordway Concert Hall, Drake Room, Marzitelli Foyer.
