Rock the Ordway: Family Day

Rock the Ordway this month with an unprecedented mix of eclectic artists and performances specifically chosen to shake things up while also showcasing the state-of-the-art acoustics and intimacy of the new Concert Hall.

Looking for a way to introduce your kids to the magic of live music? This day has it all! From 9-12, toddlers, Pre-K, and grade school kids will love the kids music in the Concert Hall featuring The Bazillions, storytelling in the Drake Room and the instrument petting zoo in the lobby. They'll also enjoy take-away art projects, Flamenco dance lessons and face painting. From 12-2 tweens will rock to the music of the Bad Bad Hats, and learn to hip-hop dance with House of Dance Twin Cities. There will be plenty of food and beverages throughout the day. Master Class in Yorchha Technique with Ananya Dance Theatre

Learn about Yorchha, the contemporary Indian dance technique this is a unique trademark of Ananya Dance Theatre’s movement. It intersects principles from the classical Indian dance form Odissi, yoga, and the martial art form Chhau.

Join us on Feb 3 & 21 for open rehearsals of Ananya Dance Theatre's new work, "Aahvaan: Invoking the Cities," commissioned by the Ordway specifically for the grand opening of the new Concert Hall. The work will premiere on March 11 as part of ROCK THE ORDWAY.
