Moahmad A.
On May 7th over 350 students, family's and educators attending a hosted reception to celebrate the 2011 ARTwalk Opening all who participated.  The reception highlighted all the ARTwalk participants and featured performances from the Saint Peter Claver drumming group and a hip-hop group from the Saint Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists.

The ART walk is an integral part of the Flint Hills International Children’s Festival, a public exhibition of young artists’ work collected from schools and community organizations across region. This year, the Festival received more than 600 collaborative and individual submissions from more than 900 young artists. All of these submissions are displayed in storefront windows throughout downtown Saint Paul from May 7 through June 5.

In addition, 14 pieces of student art were selected by a jury to be featured on a new large scale building art banner displayed on the Travelers building in Saint Paul.  One student was selected for the banner from each grade PreK- 12th. The ARTwalk is an annual event open to all young artists.
